New York here we come...

Wow! I can't believe that it is here. Rob said last night, "It really got here fast." I have to agree. It seems like it was just yesterday that Rob recieved is notification and entry in the mail. Needless to say, it has been a busy day today. Getting clothes packed not only for Rob and I, but also for Jon and Dan. They are staying at Mamaw and Papaw's house while we are gone. Tim will be at home working for Radquest and also working on his online classes. We took Jon and Dan to Mamaw and Papaw's tonight that way they don't have to get up early to go with us to the airport. We did some last minute shopping, haircuts, etc. Now we are packed and ready to get up early in the morning and head to the airport. I have to say though that we are not taking one person with us that we had originally planned on taking. My sister, Cherie, was supposed to go with us. Unfortunately, she had to go on a business trip to Kansas City, instead. She has paid for the hotel and our airfair. Also, she is out the money for her plane ticket because they are non-transferable. I can't begin to thank her enough!!!! I LOVE YOU,SIS!!! Rob says, "THANK YOU, AUNT CHERIE!!!" Well, must go to bed now. Next blog should be from NYC!

Two Days to WKC...

Well, the last couple of days has been trips to go shopping....shopping....and...shopping. Rob has 2 new suits to take, new shirts, new ties, new socks, and new shoes. Mom has....shampoo. He, He.
Jenna (Eileen's assistant) talked with Rob a the other night. Baxter is doing well. They said he had lots of fun at Eileen's brother's home and with her niece and nephew. Also, contacted school and made sure they were aware that Rob would not be at school on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.
Plans for tomorrow include, packing, cleaning the house, and preparing things for Tim, Jon, and Dan while we are gone.
My mom is taking Jon and Dan to see a movie on Sunday...probably Hotel for Dogs.
Jon and Dan are going to stay all night with Mamaw and Papaw from Saturday night until Tuesday night.
Thanks to everyone who has wished Rob luck and are keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. We wouldn't be going if it wasn't for all of your love and support. THANKS!!

Westminster Preparation...

Well, with all the snow and bitter cold lately, we haven't been able to accomplish as much as we wished. I have emailed and sent some requested pictures to the reporters that are going to interview Rob. Rob talked on the phone with one of the reporters last night for a little while. We are planning on going tonight and getting him the promised new suit. We are also planning on going to the local 4-H project night and signing the boys up for their 4-H projects for this year.

Right now at our house, we are dog-less. It is really strange to not have any dogs here. Missy (Shih Tzu) is at my mom's and Baxter is, of course, with Eileen in New Jersey (I think that is where they are right now, anyway). Even the kitten is missing them. I see her going to where their crates sit and look around, like she is lost or something.

It looks like the weather is going to improve and be nice for the trip! No snow in the forcast until after we get back home. Right now the plan is to take Jon and Dan to my mom on Saturday night. They are going to spend a few days with Mamaw and Papaw. Mamaw and Papaw are going to take them to school, so they don't get that kind of break. Tim will be home with EB (the kitten) and working for Radquest on some websites for them while we are gone. Tim is taking Rob and I to the airport very early on Saturday morning. Our plane leaves at 9 am, so we plan on being there before 7 am. On Wednesday, Jon and Dan will ride the bus home from school. Tim, Jon, and Dan will then come to the airport and pick Rob and I up on Wednesday evening. Our plane is supposed to arrive at about 7 pm. We will get Baxter from Eileen, when she arrives back home on Wednesday night also.

Prep for Westminster continues...

Today Baxter is leaving for Westminster with Eileen Hackett. Rob is a little worried that Baxter will not be happy with us when he sees us in a week. After he got back from the Vet on Friday from having his teeth cleaned, he acted mad at Rob. We had taken him to the vet on Thursday afternoon and picked him up Friday afternoon. I told Rob that after a week of not seeing us, Baxter will be so happy to see him that he will not be mad at all, besides he will be with one of his favorite dog friends, Ross, and a few of his favorite people. We are taking Baxter over to Eileen's this afternoon. Rob has been gathering all of Baxter's supplies and been cleaning the crate, bowls, blanket, and etc. He has gathered the grooming supplies, food, leads, and etc. for the trip. All of that will go with Eileen also. We are gathering Rob's show clothes and deciding what all we are taking with us. On the plane we can take one carry-on bag and one "personal" bag each. We have been contacted by a couple of people who wish to interview Rob at Westminster and they are having us send some pictures ahead of time. They are wanting pictures of Rob and Baxter doing all the different activities that they have done in the past. Activities like: hunt tests, obedience, showmanship, breed, and just playing around at home. One is reporting for a couple of magazines: Dog Watch and Dogs for Kids. The other one works for Westminster and is putting a video interview on the Westminster KC site. So, you will have to check out the Westminster site during the show to see it. I will try to let everyone know when the magazines are published.
